The big engine that couldn't
You ever watch those big 18 wheelers chug a lug up I-80, with diesel smoke spewing out the pipe and the rig's torquey engine fighting it the whole way? 
That was me at Orosi this past weekend.

Sounds like my trip up Mt. D. this past weekend. Sucky, sucky, sucky. HR through the roof on easy sections. Screamin' hot and it was 42 degrees out. I wonder if I'm going through the "change of life"...
musta been something in the air since it got so many of us otherwise studly folks
yeah, there was suckage in the air.
But i am totally at peace with it now and can laugh my myself and the silliness of me feeling bad about getting dropped by a 10 year old.
that 10 year old rides that course three times a week--pulling her dad by a bungee cord.
she's so small i didn't even see here when she was on my wheel for quite some time
while she is amazing, she's not someone i consider a good reference for comparison
i always get myself into trouble with comparisons anyway so i try to avoid them (although i am often unsuccessful!)
oh, its nothing I am taking seriously. Its mostly just funny.
