The racing on the other hand...lets just say that as someone checking out the action with the possibility of getting involved on my own...I wasnt enticed. This particular Friday night had a weird vibe, very insular and clique-y and not at all welcoming. The announcer and the official were probably the friendliest and most welcoming of the bunch.
I know it was racing, but you do it every week...do you have to me so damn serious and umm...serious?
The vets, including some people who I have admired from afar....Catty bitchy and grumbly. Lots of high school-ish cliquey ness too. Not the kind of behavior I would want to spend any kind of quality time around.
The good news is that the Sat sessions I attended were so friendly and welcoming that I am not totally turned off.
And maybe I will come back with friends to give that place a good dosing of nerdish over the top fun.
Or just hang out in the stands with my burritos and beers.
I want to be part of that crowd. I am a cat 1 livening upper. We should bring goofy hats. Pic nic baskets full of wine, flair, and men with nice chiseled legs.

as for the trackie vibe...i have actually really enjoyed being there. i really haven't encountered any negativity at all.
of course, i don't hear very well....
and maybe I hear too good. And maybe I am too sensitive to what I hear said about my man.
All I know is that place needs some livening up. We plan on full party this Friday. We're bringing crowd reinforcements.
