or, as my favorite band said..."maybe partying will help..." Its not even noon and the thought of a couple of cocktails (ok, a steak too) sounds pretty good...
The desserts look like they are from The Madonna Inn, great pies.
Actually, the Atascadero Valley looks very much like the terrain in the first hint. There are some really god wineries in the area too. If you are ever there stop by Tuly (spelling?).
Paso Robles makes my favorite wine... All big and ummy Zins down there... How about Merlot? A good bike ride and some wine tasting...yum, yum, fun, fun!
lj - us and the minutemen. It sure as hell can't hurt.
marscat - quit being so smart! I tried to crop out the hitching part
flandria - I'm going to have to reread your Solvang posts. And no smorgies for us. But that long climb sounds like exactly what we are looking for.
xbun - whats wrong with Santa Maria? except everything.
BBelf - whatever that pretzel look pastry is, I want ten.
NG - Olsens, I think. We needed to go a little further south for short sleeve temps. I'm not ready for winter yet.
Gin - your sombrero pic still makes me laugh, even though this is like the 197th time I've seen it. And thats Hans Christian Anderson
Lauren - those cakes look good. I'm pretty sure is plural
BBella - I am so all about the Zins right now. Some good ports coming out of the Paso Robles area too. And I am so stoked that we'll get to see you next weekend!
VB the climb started in Los Olivos little town, just cross the road to Figueroa Mountain Road then cut right after a long long climb to Happy Canyon Road. FMR, dead ends and it's a long way.

I didn't think hint #1 made you a tease, but hint #3 does for SURE. Gaw, is it time for dessert yet?

Jeez I was pretty close and hadn't even looked at this one yet. That was Michael Jackson, right? Same pasty white skin.
Disco and CSC trains in Solvang in January. They stay at the Royal Scandinavian Inn during their stay.
There is one long climb the teams train on - I forgot the road name but it goes up and up forever to a park up the hill - it's beautiful up there.
There are so many roads to ride. In fact the terrain and scenery reminds me of Spain by the Mediterranian Sea.

it looks like Solvang will be one of the host cities in Tour of Ca 2007 - neat!

Danish Smorgaasbord at your own risk...had that before a mtn bike race and it was just not a good idea
