Walking backwards

Yesterday was a statewide election day in California. We hit a record low in voter turnout. Here in Santa Cruz County, an area made famous for activism, turnout was an abyssmal 24%.

24%

I guess voting isn't as cool as drum circles and protest marches or taking a day off of work?

Meanwhile, Sierra County had a turnout of 67%.

Sometimes I get wanderlust and wonder where else I would like to live. My list of places I would want to live is getting shorter.

I think I like it just fine where I am. Even if I'm surrounded by a bunch of non voting hippies.

And if nothing else, at least we have delicious singletrack.

my guess is that sierra county is small enough that people think their vote actually counts....

From a conservative male point of view...... I know how little that means. :)

I think Roe is a good law.

It gives millions of women a choice and oportunity to do what they think is right, on both sides.

For me, I dont like the idea of abortion as birth control. Medical reasons, of course.

But again I'm male so my opinion doesn't mean much.

Let the women decide is my position.

1/3 of registerd voters in our county voted.

I think that is about 10 people.
